Montana
The relevant statute is Mont. Code Ann. §33-18-501.
A. Actions lender may take: Mont. Code Ann. §33-18-501(5) - Borrowers may choose the insurer from whom they obtain any required insurance, but this does not prevent a lender from placing insurance in the event the borrower fails to provide required insurance in accordance with the loan document.
B. Notices required: No express statutory provision.
C. Coverage required: No express statutory provision.
D. Charges permitted: Mont. Code Ann. §33-18-5019(2)(c) - Lenders may not require that any borrower pay a separate charge in connection with the handling of any required insurance or pay a separate charge to substitute the insurance policy of one insurer for that of another.
E. Finance charge allowed on lender's payment: Mont. Code Ann. §33-18-501(2)(c) - Interest may be charged on premium advancements made in accordance with the terms of the loan document.
